Born 1981 in rural New Hampshire, Peter was raised a "free-range-child". Currently based in NYC, his paintings showcase vividly colored, highly detailed Nature-Culture oriented themes.
He earned a BFA from Cornell University ('03) and MFA from Hunter College ('09), where he was also nominated for the Dedalus Foundation Grant. He has been awarded various distinctions including fellowships at the National Academy of Fine Arts, Vermont Studio Center and Wave Hill, plus residencies at the Red Gate Gallery (Beijing) and the Bronx Museum of the Arts.
In addition to solo shows at Wave Hill (NYC) and Kathleen Cullen Fine Arts (NYC), Peter has exhibited internationally and nationally at: Chinese Contemporary Gallery (Beijing); Rocketart (AUS); the Bronx Museum; Heather James Fine Art (Palm Springs, CA); Rohrer Fine Art (Laguna Beach, CA); Wave Hill (NYC); Daniel Weinberg Gallery (LA); and the National Academy of Fine Arts.
His work is featured in prominent collections, including the Beth Rudin DeWoody Collection, the Shirley L. & Herbert J. Semler Foundation and Citibank.
He is also an avid guitarist with a predilection for experimental, electronic jazz projects.
